Overview

• South Mountain Creamery is a family-owned dairy farm and home delivery service based in Middletown, Maryland.
• We are looking for a refrigeration tech to maintain and repair our refrigeration equipment and systems.
• You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our coolers, freezers, trucks, and ice machines.
• You will work closely with our production, delivery, and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on refrigeration equipment and systems.
• Diagnose and repair any malfunctions or defects in refrigeration equipment and systems.
• Install, test, and commission new refrigeration equipment and systems.
• Follow safety procedures and regulations when working with refrigerants and electrical components.
• Document and report all work done, parts used, and problems encountered.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other staff members as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to troubleshoot and repair commercial refrigeration systems
• Reliability
• Basic knowledge of HVAC Commercial Refrigeration
• A self-starter that can work independently as well as work with a team
• At least 2 years of experience as a refrigeration tech or similar role.
• Certification in refrigeration, HVAC, or electrical systems preferred.
• Knowledge of refrigeration principles, equipment, and systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, and codes.
• Ability to use various tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Some travel is required
